Fun in the North Yorkshire

I have long wanted to go to Harrogate, which according to Wikipedia, is a spa town in the North Yorkshire. I finally managed to go in spring, which was a good time since flowers were blooming all around town. Harrogate is a pretty town, I didn't go there to go to a spa of course, I would if I could afford it! Me and the boyfriend went around the city centre, bought some lunch and we looked for a place to eat it. We decided to eat at a nearby park called Valley Gardens, and it was such a pretty park especially as it was spring and the sun was shining. Unfortunately we didn't have time to go around the whole park as we wanted to also go to Knaresborough, a nearby market town. I'd like to come back again and explore the place a little bit more though, because according to the website there are different activities to do around the park, such as boating and crazy golf.

After lunch we went to the train station and bought tickets to go to Knaresborough. The ticket was quite cheap since it was a short trip. When we arrived, we made our way straight to the riverside. We wanted to go for a boat ride, but the place that rents the boats can only accept cash so we had to go to the town centre to get some money. The town centre was small but cute, on the way there we went past a castle which overlooks the river and railway viaduct. When we came back to the river, there was an accident. A boat was overturned and there were children falling into the river. A few police cars, fire trucks and ambulances came, but they came when the family who were on the boat were already rescued on another boat and brought back into land, the boat company acted very fast. Thankfully the kids had buoyancy vest on, but they must have been terrified since they were still quite little, and the boat got overturned near a small waterfall as well. Since there were an incident, we couldn't go on the boat, so we just walked around a bit more and then went back to Harrogate to catch the train home. If I had more time, I would have went to one of the cafe by the river and have an ice cream or tea and cake, as the area was very scenic.
